First release of BAG
Big Arsenal Guns is in my imagination about flying around in space and utilising and fighting against big guns. That simple really. In the final version I hope to capture the sense that you're flying around with a big canon with attached rocket nozzles.
Development on this game will be on hold for at least three months, though I have every wish and intent to finish my work and release a version 1. We'll have to see...
Rust (yt link) is one hell of a dangin' language. Why would you choose to develop a game using Rust based bevy (main website)? I don't know. Maybe because you like pain? Or perhaps you have an IQ 400 and find Rust trivial?
I think I'm not very smart, and maybe that's why I stuck with it, despite controversy (forum link) and technical difficulties learning and using it.
Case in point. The last game that I developed used the Lua based Löve2D (main website) . A few times I hit some hurdles whith Lua, a strictly single threaded language, but despite my amateurish skills and despite the fact that it was my first serious attempt at releasing a game it took me some 4-5 months to complete development as far as my skills could take me...
This time though, it's taken me well over a year to merely releas a 0.1.0 version!
My experience now tells me that if you consider making a game for the first time, then Löve2D is a 10/10.
I will be busy with other things pretty soon. My life seems on the threshold of pretty big change, and afterwards I can't say if I will have energy or time to spend on this project.
